Leaving Upland!

This is what I did in Upland:

– Worked. And there was a lot of work. But post-GDC work is fun
– Walked the rabbit, and watched the cat
– Went to Sea World
– Went to a casino and won a hundred bucks πŸ˜‰
– Bought boots, c/o my rocker friend Annette. People have been looking at them strangely
– Ate a whole lot
– Read Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys; I’m enjoying it immensely
– Bought makeup, c/o my female cousins. They talked girl and I couldn’t understand them. I can talk boy very well though, specifically gamespeak
– Learned how to do the laundry
– Cried over Grey’s Anatomy (no spoilers please, I’m only at Season 3 Episode 3)
– Wathced 300. Gerard Butler Awesome

Alert 1 Splash! Cat

All in all, a very good week. Now I’m off to San Francisco to watch Bloc Party! πŸ˜€

  1. I’m a little tired of gaiman’s style to be honest. I mean, in American Gods he swerved off the flowery descriptive prose for a bit, but he sinks right back into it in Anansi Boys.

I’m excited to read Warren Ellis’ “crooked little vein” though. Where Gaimain’s more “fuck her gently” Ellis beats you on the head with a broken chair leg and stuffs the sweet, beautiful truth of the world down your throat.

I like Gaimain and I really like Anansi Boys because I’ve realized I like lighter reading. I have too much seriousness in my life already.

Haven’t read any of Ellis’ stuff yet, though.
